The Big Day

Ceremonies

On a technical side, this is one of the most overlooked parts of a wedding. It is not uncommon for a bride to not even think about the music she wants to walk down the aisle to and even more so, about the sound equipment to do it right! For our clients, this is not the case. It is the first thing we ask about at their consultation. If they are unsure about what they want, they can come into one of our sound rooms and listen to samples of different ceremony music. We have a separate library of all the traditional pieces used at a ceremony, as well as, a vast array of old and new cuts that our brides have used over the years. At least one microphone is necessary at the altar for any setting where there are more than 40 people in attendance, especially outside. This can be a hidden mic on the groom that will also pick up the bride when they exchange their vows and the all important “i do”. The officiant is more well heard normally because they usually are facing the crowd and, if they have done this before, know how to project their voice. If the crowd is larger, the officiant is wearing one too, of course. Most of all, any sound equipment used is hidden from your photographer. Nothing is more “cheesy” than getting your ceremony photos back with a big microphone in the shot or a speaker in the background! If the ceremony and the reception are in two different locations a separate sound system is used for the ceremony that can also accommodate musicians.

Receptions

Our primary goal is to make this the happiest, stress-free part of your day. This is done, in part, by being involved with the planning of the whole event, not just the music. Because of our years of experience, three factors are given priority. The first is to not ask anything of the bride and groom the day of the wedding. We will work directly with the other vendors, such as catering or photography, and deal with any small details. We also want the crowd to feel involved with your big day. Throughout the event we can make announcements about what is to come next and keep your day flowing smoothly. Finally, we want our personality and music choices to fit the mood of the event and motivate everyone there. Aside from playing the music, we can be the coordinator. We want you to enjoy the party with everyone else!
